🌲 Introducing the Forest Meditations Throw
A 4-Week Crochet Along to Ground Your Hands & Heart
Hey there, yarn friends!
I’m thrilled to finally introduce the Forest Meditations Throw — a brand-new, texture-rich blanket I’ve designed for this season’s crochet along (CAL)!

This calming project draws its inspiration from the stillness of the forest — quiet trails, shifting leaves, and the soft play of light between the trees. With warm, earthy tones and engaging stitches, the Forest Meditations Throw is a meditative, meaningful project meant to bring peace and joy to your hook, one stripe at a time.
And the best part? We’re going to make it together, one week at a time, over the next 4 weeks.
🧶 What You Can Expect
The Forest Meditations Throw is worked in stripes, each featuring different stitch textures and subtle color transitions to mimic the layers of a forest landscape. Every week, we’ll add a new section to the blanket — from relaxing shell stitches to deep front post cables, to unique motif joins — all coming together to create a cozy, grounding throw.
This isn’t just a pattern — it’s a chance to slow down and create in community. You’ll finish with a gorgeous, 48″ × 36″ blanket and a head full of new stitch skills (and maybe a little more inner calm, too).

🗓 The Schedule
Each part will be released every Monday here on the blog. Here’s what to expect:
| Week | Date | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | October 6 | Foundation stripe & shell texture |
| Week 2 | October 13 | Post-stitch ribbing & motif panel |
| Week 3 | October 20 | Vertical hdc, shells & crossed dc |
| Week 4 | October 27 | Cable texture, final border & finishing |
Each part includes detailed written instructions, stitch counts, and helpful notes to walk you through the rows with confidence. You can crochet at your own pace, but if you stick with us weekly, you’ll have a completed throw by mid-October!
🧵 What You’ll Need
We’re using Lion Brand Heartland Yarn (worsted weight #4), which gives this project a lovely balance of softness and structure. Here’s the full materials list:

- Mammoth Cave – 1 ball
- Bryce Canyon – 1 ball
- Yosemite – 1 ball
- Sequoia – 1 ball
- US J/10 (6mm) crochet hook

💚 Let’s Crochet Together
Crochet alongs are one of my favorite ways to connect with you — to slow down, make beautiful things, and find joy in the process. The Forest Meditations Throw is more than just a project. It’s a reminder to take a deep breath, feel the yarn in your hands, and know you’re creating something meaningful.
So grab your hook, gather your yarn, and get ready to begin. Week 1 launches Monday, October 6 — and I can’t wait to stitch alongside you.
Let’s get making,
Rohn
