Mountain Meditations CAL: Block 2 & 3 Guide

Hello, friends!

We’re moving right along in our Mountain Meditations Crochet-Along, and today I’m thrilled to share Blocks 2 and 3 with you. These two sections build beautifully on the foundation we laid in Block 1—introducing new stitch textures, gently increasing the rhythm of our blanket, and giving you even more space to relax into your stitching.

Each block in this CAL is designed with intention—a blend of meditative repetition and small creative shifts that keep the process soothing, not stressful. As always, I’ve recorded a step-by-step video tutorial to guide you through both blocks, perfect whether you’re crocheting with your morning coffee or winding down before bed.

🌄 Why Blocks 2 & 3 Matter

These aren’t just filler blocks—Blocks 2 and 3 are about building flow. In Block 2, we’re expanding the stitch language just slightly with a textural change that adds visual interest while still being easy to memorize. It’s the crochet version of a deep breath.

Block 3 continues that energy, working with spacing and rhythm to carry us further into the full meditative arc of the throw. You’ll start to see the story of the blanket forming: peaks and valleys, light and shadow, rest and motion.

This is where the “meditations” part of Mountain Meditations really begins to bloom.

✨ A Few Stitching Tips

🧘 Go slow and let your hands lead. This blanket is less about perfection and more about presence.

🧼 If you’re using the Lion Brand Heartland yarn like I am, I recommend a simple steam block to smooth things out as you go (though final blocking can always wait till the end).

📸 And don’t forget to share your progress! Tag me and use #MountainMeditationsCAL on Instagram—I absolutely love seeing how your blankets are coming to life.

Thank you for taking this journey with me. Designing this project has been a grounding experience, and seeing each of you breathe life into it with your own stitches has been incredibly rewarding. I’ll be back soon with Block 4 and another opportunity to slow down, stitch deep, and connect to something meaningful.

Until then, keep your yarn untangled and your spirit light.
