I started my first business when I was just twelve. Mowing lawns to pay for crochet hooks and yarn. No kidding.

The summer of my eighth grade year I discovered this channel on television called HGTV. That was the first time I saw Carol Duvall. That was when I knew I wanted to be just like her. I was a 15-year-old boy who wanted to spend his life crafting.

I dropped out of college in 2007 and discovered knitting the next summer. Within a month I’d rented out a studio space to house all my yarn, looms, needles, and books. It was the first time I’d felt like me. It was when I knew I’d make a living doing this crafting thing.

Turns out, I was meant to be a crafter all along. My hope is that you’ll fall as madly in love with crafting as I have. That you’ll remove all the limits we put on ourselves and let your imagination soar. No matter what – you’re crafty. You’re creative. You’re an artist. You got this. I’ll give you all the tools you need to get from beginning to end and I’ll hold your hand along the way. That way, you can pass it on to someone else one day.

While I like to call myself the “King of Crafts”, the truth is? I’m just a teacher. I take a simplified approach to DIY, showing you how to complete the thing you want in as few steps as possible. That way, you can succeed. So, let’s do this. Let’s get crafty.

In my former life, I was kind of like a lost puppy trying to find his way. I’d jump from job to job never really finding where I was meant to be. I just knew I wanted to make things, to write, to be around people. In 2012, I decided to go headfirst and see if this whole crafting thing would work. Turns out, with a lot of hard work you CAN knit for a living! These days I am a full-time crafter, blogger, and television personality.

If you ever meet me, I’m a hugger – and give the best hugs. I love to laugh. And I’ll probably be wearing green. I just can’t get enough green.

Here are a few more facts about me:

• I do a lot of things but crochet the most. I own hundreds of crochet hooks!
• I never shop at JOANN without a coupon. Sometimes 2-3.
• I LOVE JUICE. I even make my own juice at home.
• Whoever thought of combining almonds and chocolate needs the Nobel Prize – cause that is genius.
• I’ve seen every episode of Gilmore Girls at least ten times. Okay. Twenty.
