I’m so excited to share with ya’ll something I’ve been working on for a bit now, the Rohn Strong Book Club!
I am so excited to share my love of reading with you all, and am so incredibly grateful to have so many of you willing to join me! I know you may have some questions, so, I want to answer some of the FAQ I’ve received and if you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to email me or connect with me on Instagram Here or in my Facebook Group Here.
Is there a theme?
Yes and no. I love to read and I’m quite a rapacious reader. I love to read across genres, old and new. The theme are books that speak to me. Books that I’ve read that make me feel something! We’ll challenge ourselves and read some classic lit some months and might choose a Patterson thriller the next!
Who can join?
Anyone! You can follow along on Instagram by following me and using the hashtag, #rohnstrongbookclub. You can join my facebook group here and chat about the book! It’s totally up to you. This isn’t a strict reading shceudle style club. We’re just getting together and reading! Let’s be honest…I’m just trying to be like Oprah. 😉
Nope! Well, other than be kind. Read as fast or as slow as you’d like. Take your time. Speed read. Do your thang!
What about the free pattern?
Every month we’ll also have a free pattern that you all will be able to knit/crochet along while reading but it’s not a requirement. It’s like a little bonus! Remember, this is about the reading!
When do we meet?
New books will be chosen on the 15th of the month and read through the 14th. We will meet on the 14th of each month to discuss the book at 8pm (unless I have a scheduling conflict then we will reschedule) during which I will host a Facebook Live in my group! We will also schedule a 2-week check in near the end of the month in which we’ll check in on Facebook as well!
I think that covers everything! See the book club picks below (I’ll keep this updated) sorted by month!
July – Lost Roses by Martha Hall Kelly
Set during the brink of World War One, this rich historical tale is a true love story about friendship in the darkest of times. When Eliza Ferriday travels to Russia with her friend Sofya Streshnayva, a cousin to the Romanovs, for the trip of a lifetime, Austria declares war on Serbia and Russia’s Csar’s begin to fall. Eliza escapes back to America while Sofya and her family run to the countryside. From there, this powerful tale kicks off and I cannot wait for you all to read it!
I’ll have a blog post ready for y’all tomorrow outlining how the Rohn Strong Book Club will work, how you’ll get the free pattern, and some other fun stuff! So stay tuned for that!
